The Pokè Bowl plate is already on our tables, how to prepare it?

From the latest food trends and 2020 previews, the ethnic influences will dominate. In particular, one preparation attract our attention: Pokè Bowl with Hawaiian islands origins .

For 10 years, we have seen the flourishing of exotic restaurants that offering Thai, Chinese, Japanese foods. However, what now is changing fast is the high variety of the proposed ethnic offer.

In the last years, fusion dishes were related only to foreign restaurants, today, even Italian restaurants have included in their menu dishes with clear influences from far countries. This confirming that, “cultural contamination” are increasing and  concerning  food preparation and  recipes.

 

From Edamame green beans to “pokè bowl” the step is simple.

Do you know famous Edamame? These soy beans from oriental world  today are  widely used in local dish preparations for an  innovative offer. Edamame are just an example. According to Uber Eats, (well-known food delivery) the first place of the most European required foods in 2020, will be the “poke”. A bowl (or box) with a delicious mix of rice, vegetables, fish and fruit inside. Light and healthy, this is an easy-to-eat food and, with the right tools, it becomes an easy and quick preparation.

Following the above trend, Offcar would like to help you to recreate, the pokè bowl, the typical Hawaiian plate:

Ingredients:

• 300 gr of salmon fillet (or tuna)

• 80 gr of Basmati rice

• 1 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce

• 1 tablespoons of black sesame seeds

• 1 cucumber

• 1 avocado

• 1 red pepper

• Edamame 200 gr

• Fresh bean sprouts to taste

• fresh ginger

• sesame oil to taste

 

Preparation

• Place the desired rice quantity inside the stainless steel baskets and then dip them into the our steamer tank. Cook the rice according to the desired timing.

• Start to preparing other ingredients: Put the edamame inside the special bamboo baskets ans then above the perforated stainless steel grid of our steamer (available both gas and electric). The escape of steam from the stainless steel holes will allow optimal cooking of the dish.

• Place the salmon fillet on our teppaniaky plate and after having scalded it well until it forms a light external browning place it on a cutting board and cut it into strips or cubes as you like.

• Transfer it to a bowl and drizzle it with the soy sauce and sesame oil.

• Add the fresh grated ginger, mix well and let rest.

• Peel the avocado, remove the core and cut the pulp into cubes (or strips)

• Peel the pepper and cut it and thin slices

Once all the ingredients are prepared, it will be sufficient to compose your plate in according to your imagination. It’s a dynamic dish with many variations also as regards the ingredients.
